1. Introduction

A8 ON Studio (“A8 ON Studio”, “we”, “our” or “us”) develops and provides TripsWallet (“TripsWallet” or the “App”).

TripsWallet is a travel planning and organisation application designed to help users organise trips, itineraries, transportation, accommodation, activities, travel documents, reminders, costs, notes, photos and other travel-related information.

Privacy is a core design principle of TripsWallet. The App has been designed to minimise the transmission of personal information, avoid unnecessary data collection, and process information on the user's device wherever reasonably possible.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use TripsWallet, including when the App interacts with Apple services such as iCloud, CloudKit, Maps and the App Store, and with external services used to provide particular App functionality.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

A8 ON Studio does not operate a proprietary server that receives or stores your TripsWallet travel content.

We do not collect your TripsWallet content for our own purposes, including your:

trip itineraries;
destinations and travel dates;
accommodation or transportation details;
travel documents and attachments;
notes and packing lists;
trip costs or budgets;
photos and Moments;
itinerary locations; or
other content you create, import or store within TripsWallet.

We do not use your travel information for advertising, behavioural profiling, data brokerage or marketing databases.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We do not use third-party advertising or behavioural tracking systems within TripsWallet.

Information may nevertheless be processed by external services when required to provide particular App functionality. This includes Apple when you choose to use Apple-provided functionality such as iCloud, CloudKit, Maps, StoreKit or other system services, and Wikimedia when TripsWallet requests publicly available destination content as described in this Privacy Policy. The handling of information by those services is governed by their applicable terms and privacy practices.

3. Information You Choose to Store in TripsWallet

TripsWallet allows you to create, import and manage information for your own travel organisation.

Depending on how you use the App, this information may include:

trip names and destinations;
travel dates;
flights and other transportation;
accommodation;
activities and itinerary information;
Journey Notes;
Packing Lists;
Trip Costs and budgets;
reminders;
travel records;
photos and Moments;
booking confirmations;
boarding passes;
receipts;
documents and attachments;
contact or emergency information you choose to record;
web links;
collaboration information; and
App preferences.

This information is provided and controlled by you.

The fact that TripsWallet processes or displays this information does not mean that A8 ON Studio collects it.

4. Local Storage

TripsWallet is designed to store information locally on your Apple device.

Local information remains under the protection of your device and Apple's operating-system security mechanisms.

A8 ON Studio does not have remote access to information merely because it is stored within TripsWallet on your device.

Deleting information from TripsWallet may permanently remove that information, subject to any copies that remain through iCloud, backups, shared records or other Apple services under your control.

5. iCloud and CloudKit

TripsWallet may use Apple's iCloud and CloudKit technologies for functionality including synchronisation, persistence and optional trip collaboration.

When these features are used, relevant information may be transmitted to and stored within Apple's infrastructure and associated with the applicable Apple/iCloud environment.

A8 ON Studio does not operate a separate proprietary cloud database containing copies of your TripsWallet travel content.

The availability, security, synchronisation and retention of information stored through iCloud or CloudKit are also subject to Apple's services, settings, terms and privacy practices.

Depending on your device and iCloud configuration, information may be synchronised between your Apple devices.

6. Collaboration and Shared Trips

TripsWallet may allow you to share a trip with other people using Apple's CloudKit sharing technologies.

When you choose to collaborate:

selected trip information may become available to invited participants;
participants may be able to view or modify shared information according to the permissions and functionality provided by TripsWallet and Apple;
changes made by collaborators may be synchronised between participants; and
information shared with another person may become accessible on that person's devices.

You are responsible for deciding whom you invite to a shared trip and for ensuring that you are authorised to share any information relating to other people.

Once information has legitimately been shared with another participant, A8 ON Studio cannot control what that participant independently does with information they can access.

You should share sensitive travel information only with people you trust.

7. Documents, Attachments and Linker

TripsWallet may allow you to import or attach travel-related files, images and documents.

Depending on the features you use, these may include booking confirmations, tickets, boarding passes, receipts or other documents selected by you.

TripsWallet may also allow information to be intentionally shared into the App from other applications using Apple's Share Sheet or Share Extension technologies.

Importing or attaching a document does not cause A8 ON Studio to receive a copy on a proprietary A8 ON Studio server.

You should avoid storing information that is unnecessary for your travel needs and should take particular care when storing highly sensitive identity, financial or travel documents.

8. Document Processing and Text Recognition

TripsWallet may process documents or images to assist with travel organisation.

Where available, text recognition and document-processing functionality is designed to use technologies available on the device, including Apple frameworks such as Vision.

Automated recognition may be incomplete or inaccurate. Extracted information should therefore be reviewed before you rely upon it.

TripsWallet's document-processing functionality is intended as an organisational convenience and should not be treated as an authoritative verification of a booking, identity document or travel requirement.

9. Camera and Photo Library

TripsWallet may request access to your camera or photo library when you choose functionality that requires it.

This may allow you to:

capture or import travel-related images or documents;
attach images to a trip;
add photographs or Moments; or
use other image-based features offered by the App.

Access occurs through Apple's permission mechanisms.

You may refuse or revoke access through your device settings. Doing so may prevent related features from functioning.

A8 ON Studio does not receive your entire photo library merely because you grant TripsWallet photo access.

10. Locations, Maps and Geocoding

TripsWallet may use location-related information contained in your itinerary, including destinations, addresses, airports, accommodation locations, transportation points and activity locations.

The App may use Apple's mapping, search and geocoding technologies, including MapKit and related Apple services, to identify or display locations and to provide Journey Map functionality.

TripsWallet does not continuously track or record your physical movements for its travel-planning functionality.

Information supplied to Apple mapping or geocoding services is subject to Apple's applicable privacy practices.

11. Destination Images and Wikimedia

TripsWallet may retrieve publicly available destination information or imagery from Wikipedia or Wikimedia services to help present destination-related content within the App.

When this functionality is used, TripsWallet may send the relevant destination name to Wikimedia in order to request the corresponding public content. As with ordinary internet communications, Wikimedia may also receive technical network information associated with the request, such as an Internet Protocol (IP) address and request information.

A8 ON Studio does not operate an intermediary server for these requests and does not receive or store the destination request on a proprietary A8 ON Studio server.

Information received independently by Wikimedia is handled according to Wikimedia's own privacy practices. More information is available through the Wikimedia Foundation Privacy Policy.

12. Calendar

Where TripsWallet provides calendar functionality, the App may request permission to interact with calendar information through Apple's system frameworks.

Calendar access occurs only where required by functionality you choose to use and subject to Apple's permission controls.

You can revoke calendar permission through your device settings.

13. Notifications and Reminders

TripsWallet may generate notifications or reminders relating to travel information you have entered into the App.

Notifications are used to provide App functionality rather than advertising.

Depending on your device configuration, notification content may be visible on your Lock Screen or to other people who can view your device.

You can control notification permissions and presentation through your Apple device settings.

14. Widgets

TripsWallet may provide widgets that display selected trip or journey information.

Depending on your device settings and widget configuration, this information may be visible on your Home Screen, Lock Screen or other system surfaces.

You should consider this when choosing what information to store and display, particularly when other people may have physical access to your device.

15. Purchases and Subscriptions

TripsWallet may offer optional paid functionality, including subscriptions, lifetime access or trip-based purchases.

Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and StoreKit technologies.

A8 ON Studio does not directly receive or store your full payment-card details through TripsWallet.

Apple may provide TripsWallet with transaction or entitlement information necessary for the App to determine whether purchased functionality should be available.

Apple's processing of purchase, payment and account information is governed by Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.

Pricing, duration and applicable purchase conditions are presented through the App Store or relevant purchase interface before a transaction is completed.

16. Apple Services and System Technologies

Depending on the functionality you choose to use, TripsWallet may interact with Apple-provided technologies and services including:

iCloud;
CloudKit;
StoreKit and the App Store;
MapKit and Apple Maps services;
Photos;
Camera;
Calendar;
Notifications;
Vision;
Widgets;
Share Extensions;
Quick Look; and
operating-system security and storage services.

These technologies are operated by Apple and may process information independently in accordance with Apple's own terms, policies and legal obligations.

A8 ON Studio does not control Apple's independent privacy practices.

17. Analytics, Advertising and Tracking

TripsWallet does not use your travel content to create advertising profiles.

A8 ON Studio does not sell your TripsWallet travel information to advertisers or data brokers.

The current version of TripsWallet does not incorporate third-party advertising networks or third-party behavioural tracking technologies for the purpose of tracking users across apps or websites owned by other companies.

If TripsWallet's privacy practices materially change in a future version, this Privacy Policy and applicable App Store privacy disclosures will be updated as required.

18. Security

TripsWallet is designed to take advantage of Apple's security architecture and system protections, which may include:

application sandboxing;
device-level security and encryption;
iCloud and CloudKit security;
Keychain and other protected system storage where applicable;
operating-system access controls; and
user-controlled permissions.

We design TripsWallet to minimise unnecessary access to personal information.

However, no device, software application, network or online service can guarantee absolute security, availability or protection against every possible threat.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate security on your Apple devices, including passcodes, biometric protection and Apple Account security where appropriate.

19. Data Retention and Deletion

Because A8 ON Studio does not maintain a proprietary server containing your TripsWallet travel content, we generally cannot remotely retrieve or delete that content on your behalf.

You can manage information through TripsWallet and, where applicable, through your Apple device and iCloud settings.

Depending on the information and configuration involved, deletion may require removing:

individual content from TripsWallet;
trips or other records from the App;
shared CloudKit information;
information from iCloud; or
the App itself.

Deleting the App does not necessarily delete information independently retained in iCloud, backups, shared records or other Apple services.

You should maintain independent copies of essential travel documents and information.

20. Your Privacy Choices

TripsWallet is designed to give you direct control over much of the information it handles.

Depending on the feature, you may be able to:

choose what information to enter or import;
delete information;
decide whether to use iCloud-related functionality;
choose whether to share trips with collaborators;
manage collaborators where functionality permits;
grant or revoke device permissions;
control notifications;
control access to your camera, photos or calendar; and
manage relevant Apple services through your device or Apple Account.

Certain functionality may not work if the permissions or Apple services it requires are disabled.

21. Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, applicable privacy law may provide rights relating to personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or complaint.

The practical application of these rights depends on whether A8 ON Studio actually possesses the information concerned.

Because TripsWallet is designed so that A8 ON Studio does not collect your travel content on proprietary servers, we may not possess information that you ask us to access, correct, export or delete.

Where information is held exclusively by Apple as part of an Apple service, requests concerning that information may need to be directed to Apple or managed through your Apple Account.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy is intended to limit rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

22. International Users

TripsWallet may be made available in multiple countries and regions.

Apple services used by TripsWallet may process information in accordance with Apple's infrastructure, contractual arrangements and applicable privacy practices.

Other external services identified in this Privacy Policy may also process technical information in countries or regions determined by their own infrastructure and privacy practices.

Where privacy laws such as the Australian Privacy Act, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom GDPR or other applicable legislation provide mandatory rights, those rights continue to apply according to their terms.

This Privacy Policy is not intended to exclude or restrict mandatory privacy protections.

23. Children

TripsWallet is a general-audience travel planning and organisation application and is not specifically directed at children.

A8 ON Studio does not knowingly collect children's personal information through a proprietary TripsWallet server.

Parents and guardians should consider whether the App and any information stored within it are appropriate for a child under their supervision.

Apple's App Store age rating relates to the suitability of App content and does not replace any consent requirements that may apply under privacy law.

24. Third-Party Information

You may choose to store information concerning other people, such as travelling companions, collaborators or emergency contacts.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have an appropriate basis to enter, store or share another person's information.

TripsWallet should not be used to collect or distribute information about another person unlawfully.

25. Third-Party Content and Services

TripsWallet may allow you to store, display or interact with information originating from airlines, accommodation providers, transport providers, booking services, Wikimedia services or other third parties.

A8 ON Studio does not control the privacy, accuracy, availability or practices of those third parties.

Third-party content remains subject to any applicable rights, terms and conditions of its respective owner or provider.

26. Data Breaches and Security Incidents

If A8 ON Studio becomes aware of a security incident involving personal information that A8 ON Studio controls, we will assess and respond to the incident in accordance with applicable legal obligations.

Because A8 ON Studio does not operate a proprietary server containing users' TripsWallet travel content, some incidents affecting information stored through an Apple service, an external service identified in this Privacy Policy, or on a user's device may fall outside A8 ON Studio's possession or control.

27. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to TripsWallet, legal requirements, Apple platform technologies, external services used by the App or our privacy practices.

When this Privacy Policy is updated, the revised version will identify an updated effective date.

Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before materially different processing of personal information occurs.

The current Privacy Policy will be made available through the official TripsWallet website and/or the App.

29. Governing Privacy Protections

A8 ON Studio operates from Australia.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any privacy, consumer or other statutory right that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Where mandatory laws in the country or region in which you reside provide greater protection, those laws apply to the extent required.
